Bryce Morrison in the August 2015 Gramophone magazine compares piano releases from Irina, Sodi Braide, Audrey Vigoureux, Alexander Schimpf and Olga Georgievskaya. He hails Irina as a ‘pianist of daunting proficiency, able to play all the notes impressively (no mean feat in such demanding fare)’ and gives special mention to her poise in the Trois Nouvelles Etudes. Julian Haylock writing for BBC Music Magazine gives the recording an impressive 4 stars, and notes that the disc is ‘recorded with a clarity that recalls Pollini’s 1970 account for DG’ and remarks that ‘Bogdanova keeps a tight rein on Chopin’s poetic fantasy, making each Étude a microcosm of sequential ingenuity’.
